Lake Cascade, Idaho

I went up last weekend with my fellow dietetic intern, Jessica, to explore the state. As we are both originally from other states and love to get away from the city and experience the outdoors, we found it high time to "get outta dodge." The weather was lacking but it was a pretty drive and a really fun way to re-center myself.

Speaking of fall time...

We have this beautiful tree in front of our yard. It stands tall and commands attention. Although, we thought it annoying at first because it's a Box Elder Tree and they attract nasty little box elder bugs. Yuck! It had hidden treasures in store for us though because we found it turns a gorgeous RED color (ahem, my favorite of all colors). It's the only one like it on our block. We get passer-bys stopping what ever they are doing to stop and take in the fiery beauty. We are sure glad fall time lingers around here because we get to enjoy our tree that much longer.

The good ol' days

I've been reminiscing lately on some of the best moments and memories (that I have pictures of anyway). Working on the Alyeska Pipeline as an Engineer Tech in the Summer of 2001 was the very best job I have ever had to this day. Repelling down Thompson Pass near Valdez, flying in a helicopter, hiking in the Brooks Range and running into big horn sheep, driving where no man has driven before....ahhhh it doesn't get any better than that. Oh wait it does...I was paid to do all of this! Ha ha. Like I said, the best job ever.

I just love the Fall!!!

Don't you just the fall time?! I sure do. I haven't been able to take a nice sunday drive down a long lane these days, so I reminisce on previous falls in Colorado. Enjoy the bright golden loviness!
